About Company

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai was set up in 2005. Its job is to plan and build an integrated transportation system in the Emirate of Dubai and between Dubai and the other UAE Emirates that can help the Emirate reach its goals and protect its important interests.

Traffic & Roads, Public Transport, Licensing, Rail, and Dubai Taxi Corporation are the five departments that make up RTA. There are also three support sectors, which are Strategy & Corporate Governance, Corporate Administrative Support Services, and Corporate Technology Support Services.  

 Since it was founded, RTA has won a lot of praise for building and running important turnkey transportation and roads projects. Some of these are the Dubai Metro, the Dubai Tram, the Dubai Water Canal, and a number of roads, bridges, and tunnels. RTA has also updated marine transit options, given a new fleet of public buses, and added many traditional and smart services that have helped make the area safer and lower the number of pedestrian deaths.
