Job Description

Job Summary

The Accounts Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's financial operations, including general ledger maintenance, accounts receivable and payable, and account reconciliations. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information while supporting the organization's financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management:

    • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate transaction recording.
    • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting standards.
    • Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of general ledger accounts for accuracy.
  • Accounts Receivable:

    • Oversee the invoicing process to ensure timely and accurate billing to clients.
    • Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts.
    • Implement effective collection strategies to minimize outstanding debts.
  • Accounts Payable:

    • Manage the accounts payable process, including invoice verification, approval, and payment disbursement.
    • Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices while maintaining positive vendor relationships.
    • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Account Reconciliation:

    • Perform regular reconciliations of bank statements, credit card accounts, and other financial accounts.
    • Identify and promptly resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
    • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and forecasts.
    • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Compliance and Internal Controls:

    • Ensure adherence to accounting principles, company policies, and relevant regulations.
    • Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Team Leadership:

    • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support as necessary.
    • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment within the finance team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, focusing on general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable management.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant).
  • Experience with specific accounting software or industry-specific financial systems.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations or standards.
