Away from the concrete jungle is the strange Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. Hire a 4 by 4 and go for a crossover in the sand dunes. Experience the fun of striking the sand dunes and the sheer magic of the desert with the light of the sunset on the horizon. That I would recommend as it gives you a feel of what you would expect to find of the natural beauty of Dubai.
Begin your tour in Dubai marina, around tall buildings that are mirrored on the waters of the marina. Take a road trip on Sheik Zayed Road while appreciating the aesthetic of architectural design of the buildings. Go further towards Palm Jumeirah, a man-made island in the form of the palm tree and a nice sea view.
If you feel that summer has brought you crazy clinging heat and you just cannot stand it any longer, then it is time to head out to cooler regions of Hatta, situated in the Hajar Mountains. On the Hatta road there are views of rocky mountains and wadis which are valleys that are dry most of the time. The Hatta Dam is another place you should not miss as you will get a wonderful view of the place alongside you get to do some water activities like kayaking or have fun mountain biking.
Named Al Qudra Lakes, it is a fabulous place for the visitor to explore nature built in the middle of a desert. Cruise the quiet roads that skirt the lakesides, look at the fauna and appreciate the serenity of the desert environments. It is particularly good for the afternoon lovers who often visit there to spend quality time together with packed meals.
If you are more adventurous, go for a road trip to Jebel Jais Mount which is the highest in the United Arab Emirates. The drive is in Ras Al Khaimah, with inclined roads that help to capture the picturesque of the rocky mountain background. Pull-over at specific vantage points to take beautiful pictures.
Get a mix between the old and new Dubai as there is a possibility of getting a drive around the Dubai Creek while traditional wooden boats move slowly. Proceed to Al Mamzar Beach Park which is a beautiful park situated by the sea with lots of trees and quiet, clean beaches. It is, indeed, one of the loveliest places for some leisurely touring.
Having spent most of the night, next proceed for a night tour in a bid to see part of Dubai after the sun has set. Spend a night driving along Sheikh Zayed Road to Burj Khalifa and Emirates Tower with their spectacular illumination. Take in the hustle and bustle of the city borough’s nightlife and ethnic flavor.
Drives with a rented car within the city of Dubai offer more than just the sensational facades of this modern city. Taking the seven routes desert, mountain, star, sand, sea, sky, and the occasional canal, you get to view a different Dubai.
