Roles & Responsibilities
- Designs maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods.
- Carries out routine maintenance work and responds to equipment faults.
- Diagnoses breakdown problems.
- Fits new parts and makes sure equipment is working correctly.
- Carries out quality inspections on jobs.
- Liaises with the production department and other engineering colleagues.
- Arrange procurement of fixtures, fittings, or components.
- Controls maintenance tools, stores, and equipment.
- Monitors and controls maintenance costs.
- Deals with emergencies, unplanned, problems, and repairs.
- Improves health and safety policies and procedures.
- Works with specialist equipment, such as programmable logic controllers (PLC), which control machinery in the plan.
- Writes maintenance strategies to help with installation and commissioning guidelines.
- Ensures continuous cover of the machinery and equipment in case of breakdowns.
- Occasionally manufactures parts required for maintenance.
- Makes improvements in the machinery to improve productivity in consultation with the production team.
- Trains workmen on the right way of handling the machines to avoid breakdowns.
- Availability of machinery and equipment for production.
- Reduction in maintenance cost.
- Increase the life span of all equipment and machinery.
- Installation of new equipment as per the requirement
