Rent a Car in Dubai from AED 33 a Day
Dubai runs on cars. The Metro is excellent on the lines it covers, but the moment your day involves Al Quoz in the morning, a client in Business Bay at noon, and dinner in Jumeirah, you understand why almost everyone here ends up with a set of keys in their pocket. Buying is one answer. Renting is the faster, lighter, and increasingly cheaper one.
This month our sales team has locked in a set of economy rates that are genuinely difficult to match anywhere in the emirate. Below you will find every car, every price, and something most rental websites will not give you: the complete terms of the contract you will actually sign, written out in plain language before you book rather than pushed across a counter for a rushed signature.
At the end, there is news about a new service Great Dubai is bringing to the city, and a promise attached to it that no one else in Dubai is making.
The Offer: Economy Cars, Daily Rates, From Day One
Every rate below is a daily rate and applies from the first day onwards. There is no hidden weekly minimum and no requirement to commit to a month to unlock the price.

Which One to Take
A few of these deserve a note. The Renault Symbol at AED 33 is the entry point and the cheapest way to have a car in Dubai without owning one. The Chery Arrizo and the Geely are 2026 models sitting at AED 40 and AED 49 respectively, which is unusual: brand-new cars at genuine economy pricing, with the warranty, the fuel economy, and the cabin quality that come with a current model year. Those two will not stay available at these numbers for long.
On the practical side, the Chevrolet Spark at AED 35 is the one to take if your life happens inside the city and you are tired of circling for parking. The Renault Duster at AED 55 is the value pick in the SUV bracket. The JAC S3 2025 at AED 69 is the newest SUV on the list.
Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit of AED 1,000 is required on every booking, payable by credit card, debit card, or cash.
The Complete Terms and Conditions
We publish the entire contract up front. Read it now, at your own pace, rather than at a counter with the engine already warm. Every clause below forms part of the rental agreement.
Eligibility and the Contract Itself
The renter must be confirmed as eligible to sign the rental contract before the vehicle is released. On signing, the renter accepts all articles, terms, conditions, and attachments of the contract and is fully committed to them.
The renter commits to UAE traffic laws and to rent-a-car regulations, agrees to follow UAE criminal law, and agrees never to use the rented vehicle for anything against the laws and rules of the UAE. In the event of any such use, the renter is prepared to assume full criminal and civil liability and to compensate the company for damage caused to it in both property and business transactions.
The introduction to the contract is a basic and binding part of it. Three annexes are attached. The contract is written in two copies, one held by each party. The renter acknowledges that the terms have been fully explained and understood, and raises no objection to any article. UAE courts have the authority to review any case arising from this contract.
Receiving, Using, and Returning the Vehicle
The renter must collect the vehicle from the company’s pre-determined branch and must return it to that same branch on the day and hour specified. Failure to do so results in a fine.
The vehicle cannot be taken off hire outside the company’s official opening hours. Those hours are Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Returning the vehicle outside these timings is charged at AED 350.
Before taking the vehicle, the renter checks it thoroughly and acknowledges that it is in good, clean, and usable condition. Do this properly. Walk around it, look at the wheels, photograph anything you find. This inspection is what protects you later.
The vehicle must be returned completely clean and free of any belongings. It must be washed at a washing station at an official petrol station, meaning ADNOC, ENOC, EPPCO, or EMARAT only, no more than three hours before delivery, and the washing bill must be produced. Without that bill, AED 350 is charged.
The renter must not leave any personal items in the vehicle on delivery. The company is not responsible for the loss of anything left behind.
The renter must not remove, replace, or alter the features or shape of the vehicle, must not apply adhesives or stickers, must not change its colour, must not remove the number plates, and must not expose or strip any part of it.
The renter is obliged to keep the vehicle safe by every means available from the moment it is picked up until it is delivered back to the company in good and safe condition. From collection until return, the renter carries the liability and the responsibility. The company has no responsibility for the renter’s behaviour with the car during the rental period.
The company has the full right to give any data about the renter or the vehicle’s location to any government authority in the UAE if requested, and the renter is not entitled to sue, take legal action, or seek compensation from the company for this. The company also has the right to disconnect and stop the vehicle at any time it wishes, without returning to the renter and without notifying or informing them.
Mileage
Mileage is limited to 67 km per day. Any additional kilometres are charged at the rate set for the vehicle category. Be honest with yourself about your daily distance before you book. A Marina to Sharjah commute alone will exceed this, and the excess is easier to plan for than to be surprised by.
Breakdowns and Accidents
If the vehicle fails or stops working, the renter must contact the company directly and report the fault, and must not attempt any repair.
If the vehicle stops working as the result of a traffic accident, the renter must call the police and the company directly, report the accident and its location, and must not drive or move the vehicle until the company representative arrives. In the case of delay or non-contact, the car must be brought to the return location on recovery.
Who May Drive
The renter must use and drive the vehicle personally and must not lend it to anyone not named on the contract. Insurance does not apply when another person is driving. If the renter lends the vehicle to someone else, the renter is fully responsible for that person’s actions, their driving, and everything they do with the vehicle. In the event of an accident while a non-renter is driving, the renter bears all the consequences set out in the accident and violation section of the contract and pays the company compensation of AED 10,000.
Fuel and Long Rentals
The vehicle must be returned with the fuel tank at least 25% full.
If the rental exceeds 21 days, the renter must bring the vehicle to the company directly after that period for technical inspection and routine maintenance. Failure to attend on time results in a weekly fine, and the renter becomes responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle by that lack of maintenance, bearing all costs of spare parts, maintenance, garage fees, and any other expense arising from non-compliance.
Fines and Traffic Accidents
The renter takes full responsibility, civil and criminal, for the vehicle and for their own behaviour under UAE law during the rental period.
All traffic fines, administrative charges, and taxes added during the rental period are borne by the renter and paid in full to the company. If a non-renter drives the vehicle and incurs traffic violations, the renter bears exactly the same responsibility, with no liability on the company.
Off-road use is not permitted without prior written permission from the company. Violation carries a fine of AED 15,000 plus any repair cost. Use of the vehicle is limited to within the UAE.
How Fines Are Handled, and What They Cost
• Traffic fines must be paid within three days of registration, with an administration fee of AED 105 for each fine.
• Fines carrying black points must be paid within 48 hours of registration. Delay is penalised at AED 105 per day.
• The renter is required to pay AED 100 or 10% of the fine, whichever is higher, as an administrative fee on each traffic fine. This applies even if the renter pays the fine themselves.
• For toll gates, Salik or Darb, the administrative fee is AED 2 per gate, with a minimum of AED 6 per trip.
• On parking charges, the administrative fee is 30% of the parking amount.
• If the driver passes a red traffic light, AED 200 is charged daily as an administrative charge for payment of the fine, and the renter must pay the fine within 24 hours of its registration.
The renter takes full responsibility for any black points incurred during the rental period, and the company has the right to transfer those black points and fines onto the renter’s driving licence or traffic file, whether that licence is issued by the UAE or is an international licence.
The renter takes full responsibility for red-light violations in the emirate of Abu Dhabi specifically and across all emirates of the UAE, including the traffic fine, black points, impounding fee, the rental value for the entire impounding period until the vehicle is received back by the company, and all other associated charges.
If the vehicle cannot be used because of an accident, repairs following an accident, police or court detention, or any action by the renter that takes the vehicle out of service, the renter remains bound by the daily rental value of the vehicle for the full period.
The renter is responsible for all damage and repairs to the vehicle during the rental period. Any fines related to the original Mulkia, the vehicle registration card, are the renter’s responsibility.
VIP Service and the Schedule of Charges
• Car pick-up service, on request by the renter: AED 350 within 12 km of the registered office, plus AED 5 per km for any distance beyond 12 km.
• Returning the car outside the official timings stated in the agreement: AED 350.
• Failure to bring the car in for routine maintenance: a weekly fine of AED 1,000.
• Vehicle returned dirty and unclean: AED 525 for interior cleaning and AED 350 for exterior cleaning.
• Smoking in the car, or smoking smell on return: AED 525.
• No car washing bill from ENOC, EPPCO, EMARAT, or ADNOC: AED 350.
• Fuel below the level at contract opening: a minimum of AED 100 for each fuel point below that level.
• Any additional driver: a minimum of AED 350 if the rental period is under a month, or AED 350 per month. This applies even if the car is simply returned by someone other than the renter.
• Returning the car to a different branch, or to a non-branch location where the contract was not signed: AED 350.
• Lost or damaged key: AED 1,500 plus the cost of cutting a new key. These charges apply equally to unlocking or opening the car with a duplicate key in any circumstance.
• Original Mulkia taken by the renter: an additional deposit of AED 200. Penalty for loss of the registration card: AED 400.
• Late payment: AED 100 plus VAT per day, from the date the payment is due until the date the renter clears the balance.
Duplicate keys are not issued to the renter. The company representative will only open the car and hand over the belongings, after which the current car must be taken back and a replacement car provided, since the company must arrange a duplicate key before releasing that vehicle to a new customer.
The Deposit and How to Get It Back
The renter has the right to claim the deposit amount 30 days after returning the car to the company, refunded by bank cheque. Each month is counted as 30 days.
The renter must come to the company branch personally and bring the original receipt for the deposit amount along with their Emirates ID or passport in order to receive it. Without these, the deposit cannot be released. No information will be given and no payment will be made to anyone other than the renter themselves.
For tourist renters who leave the country before the 30-day period is complete, the company will transfer the deposit after 30 days by Western Union or by bank transfer.
The renter has no right to collect the deposit after one year.
The Insurance, and Where It Ends
This is the section worth reading twice, because it is where the real money sits.
The insurance remains in effect during the paid rental period. In the event of non-payment of rent by the renter, the insurance becomes null and void and will not be active. At that point the renter becomes responsible for the cost of repairing any damage to the vehicle, for paying any fines registered against the vehicle’s ownership, for paying the full price of the vehicle, and for paying full compensation to the company in the event of total loss.
Tyres and windscreens are not covered by any kind of insurance. The renter bears all such charges, plus the rent for every day the car sits in the garage.
The Insurance Excess
The renter is liable to pay the insurance excess amount stated in the contract. It depends on the car type and starts at a minimum of AED 2,100 and rises to a maximum of AED 25,000, plus 30% of the repair cost and spare parts, plus the daily rent until the repair is completed. This applies where the fault is the renter’s, and also where damage is caused by an unknown party, meaning where no liable party is identified in the police report. This insurance excess applies even to a minor scratch or a small dent.
In the event of total loss resulting from an accident the renter caused, the renter is required to pay the insurance excess amount plus 40% of the price of the vehicle at the time of purchase.
The renter is not allowed to repair the car under any circumstance. If they do, RCD Rent a Car reserves the right to charge AED 15,000.
SCDW
If SCDW, the super collision damage waiver, is purchased at the start of the rental, the insurance excess becomes nil. However, if the car is a total loss caused by the renter, a minimum of 40% of the car’s value at the time of purchase remains payable. For anyone renting for more than a few days, or driving Sheikh Zayed Road daily, SCDW is worth asking about at the counter. The excess it removes is larger than most people expect.
Limits of Cover
The renter is liable to pay the rent for the entire time the car is in the garage, and this is required in all conditions.
The renter is obliged to pay the insurance excess and the total cost of all repairs after an accident if the driver is under 21 years old, or if the renter’s driving licence is less than one year old. The renter bears all liability described in the previous articles in that case.
Insurance covers the vehicle only within the UAE.
The renter acknowledges that the vehicle is insured only as per the terms and limits of the company’s insurance policy. Any loss, damage, or liability arising from events not covered by that policy, including but not limited to natural disasters, Acts of God, war, civil unrest, or force majeure events, is the sole responsibility of the renter. The renter agrees to bear all associated costs, including repair, replacement, recovery, loss of use, and any applicable charges.
The Rent Value
Rent must always be paid in advance. If the renter fails to pay in advance, the company charges rent at the listed price stated in the schedule of charges.
Only the company is responsible for determining the rental value of the vehicle, and it is entitled to change, modify, increase, or reduce it as it deems appropriate. When the contract duration is finished, the price stated in the contract changes to the rate in the attached price list.
Any past, present, or future discount is not applicable in any dispute, criminal matter, or court case, and rent is then considered at the daily rate only. The renter is not entitled to continue renting at the rate agreed in the contract after its termination, and is not entitled to contest the company judicially over that.
On early return, rent is charged as per the contract price and a parking fee is charged for the days by which the car is returned early.
The contract value is payable to the company in advance. If the renter wishes to extend the contract period, they must notify the company at least 48 hours before the contract expires, and the renewal period must be paid in advance.
Legal Responsibility
The renter acknowledges that all personal information provided to the company, including telephone number, home address, work address, email, and the Makani numbers of their place of business and home, is correct and complete, and that they are fully responsible for compensating the company if false data is given.
The following uses are prohibited outright: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; using the vehicle to transport prohibited or criminal substances; transporting passengers for hire or using it as a taxi; racing, speed challenges, or any kind of car sport; and any act contrary to public morals. In any of these events, criminal and civil liability rests with the renter alone. The renter must bear all costs of repairing the car if it is damaged, or pay its full price in the event of total loss, together with compensation determined by the company for its financial and moral losses.
If the renter fails to pay the rent and does not return the car within 15 days, they are liable to pay the price of the car at the time of purchase, plus fines, Salik, and the rent for the period of use.
If the renter does not pay the rent within 24 hours, the company will take all criminal and civil proceedings against them.
The renter acknowledges and accepts that, in the event of non-payment, all DPS shall be competent to file a criminal case against them for the crime of refraining from payment, as set out in Article 395 of Federal Law No. 3 of 1987.
New from Great Dubai: A Faster Alternative to the Taxi
There is a particular kind of frustration that every Dubai resident knows. You book a ride. The app says four minutes. Four minutes becomes seven. Seven becomes eleven. The little car on the map turns down a road that makes no sense, and you stand in forty-two degrees of afternoon heat watching an estimate that has quietly stopped meaning anything.
Great Dubai is launching a ride service across the city built around the opposite idea.
Your Ride Reaches You in 15 Minutes. Guaranteed.
Book through Great Dubai and a driver will be at your location within fifteen minutes. Not an estimate. Not a number that slides while you watch it. A guarantee, and one we back with something you can hold.
If We Are Late, We Pay You in Gold.
If your ride arrives later than fifteen minutes, Great Dubai pays you 10 milligrams of gold as cashback for every minute of delay, up to a maximum of 50 milligrams per ride.
Not a discount code. Not points you can only spend back with us. Gold, credited to you as cashback, on a ride that was late.
How the Guarantee Works
• The fifteen-minute clock starts the moment your booking is confirmed and a driver is assigned to you.
• The clock stops when the driver arrives at the pick-up point recorded in your booking.
• For every full minute past the fifteen-minute mark, 10 mg of gold is credited to you.
• Compensation is capped at 50 mg of gold for any single ride.
• The guarantee applies to bookings made inside Great Dubai’s covered service zones.
• Delays caused by the customer do not qualify, meaning an incorrect pick-up location, a phone number we cannot reach, or a customer who is not present when the driver arrives.
• Rides during exceptional conditions such as severe weather, road closures, or major public events may be excluded.
• The full guarantee terms are published on the booking page.
Fifteen minutes is a fair standard in a city with this much road and this much competition. We think a promise should cost something to break. That is the entire point.
